Scoreline Summary

Denmark 0-0 England

Brief Report

In what played out as a tightly contested encounter, Colossal’s Ainsley Maitland-Niles made his Senior England Debut.

As a true product of the English academy system, Ainsley came on in the 87th minute – replacing Trent Alexander-Arnold to ensure at least a point against Denmark.

In a game of very little excitement, neither side were able to find a breakthrough.

Colossal’s Raheem Sterling also started a second consecutive game for the Three Lions after he scored the decisive winner against Iceland in the previous game.

What Does This Mean?

A point against Denmark leaves England in second place in League A Group 2 – two points behind the league leaders Belgium.

What’s Next?

Next up for Ainsley is a trip to newly-promoted Fulham as Arsenal begin their 2020/21 Premier League campaign on Saturday 12th September.

For Raheem, Man City start their new season a week later following their involvement in the Champions League Knock-Out stages.
