Albert has been announced in Slovakia’s squad for the upcoming 2020 UEFA European Championship Qualifiers away to Croatia and at home to Azerbaijan later this month.

The selection comes after a sublime individual season for Albert, having reached the MLS play-offs with Real Salt Lake, contributing with 10 goals and three assists in the process.

The talented winger has been part of his national team’s plans having made his debut against Austria in November 2016 and has been a regular for his country ever since.

Slovakia are in a delicately poised position in Group E – sitting in third with a game in hand over leaders Croatia, who are currently on 14 points, whilst second-placed Hungary are two points behind.

Due to not finishing top of their UEFA Nations League group, Slovakia can only qualify through the qualifying stages – not via the play-offs.

Albert and his Slovakia side face World Cup runners-up Croatia in Rijeka on Saturday 16th November before hosting Azerbaijan in Trnava on Tuesday 19th November.
