Liverpool 3-2 West Ham United
(Wijnaldum 9’, Salah 68’, Mane 81′ – Diop 12’, Fornals 54’)
Alex helped Liverpool take another giant stride in lifting his first Premier League title and Liverpool’s first top-flight honour in 30 years with a 3-2 comeback win over West Ham.
With the unfancied Hammers finding themselves in dreamland 2-1 up at Anfield, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp had to turn to Alex as the star to carry the Reds over the line.
Alex’s second-half appearance was nothing short of mesmerising. With West Ham on the back foot, as is so often when Alex steps onto the field, the England international helped his side get out of first gear, demonstrating his fantastic passing ability and rapid energy from midfield.
Whilst prolific goalscorers in Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane grabbed the headlines, it was Alex’s valuable cameo that changed the game for the unbeaten league leaders.
What Does This Mean?
An 18-game winning streak now sees Liverpool go 22 points ahead at the top of the Premier League, needing just four more wins to secure their status as champions.
Alex and his teammates now travel to Watford on Saturday afternoon, taking on the bottom-placed Hornets with kick-off at 5:30pm.
