At only 22 Leon has gone from Jamaica to being one of the most talked-about youngsters in the Bundesliga, scoring twice in a 2-1 win against Champions Bayern Munich.
Leon’s senior career took off rapidly when he joined Belgium side Genk in 2015. His goal in the Europa League against Rapid Wien on 15 September 2016 was chosen as the top goal of the competition for the 2016–17 season by UEFA.
At the end of the 2015-2016 season he won the Belgium Young Footballer of the Year award.
After having interest from clubs in the Premier League, Leon joined Bayer Leverkusen in January 2017 and made 10 appearances in his first half season at the club.
He scored his first goal for the club on 11th August 2017, in the first game of the 17/18 season in a 3-0 victory in the German Cup against Karlsruher SC. His first league goal for the club came on the 29th September against FC Schalke 04.
Leon likes to turn up on big occasions. He has scored against Bayern, Dortmund and RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga this season as well as scoring a beautiful goal against Rangers in the Europa League.
