A young, versatile forward with fantastic skill and flair on the ball, Danny is another exciting addition to our player roster.
The U17 World Cup winner has continued to rise to prominence for both club and country. As a first-team starlet at Reading, the 19-year-old has 33 appearances to his name whilst moving up England’s youth ranks as an U20 international.
Reading-born, Danny started his career at Wycombe Wanderers before joining his hometown club with the U13s in 2012.
Progressing through the age-groups, Danny made a huge impact in the Royals’ youth ranks. Along with being inducted as a scholar in the summer of 2016, Danny was awarded the Maurice Edelston Memorial Trophy for Best Academy Schoolboy aged 15.
After being involved with club’s U18s, Danny rapidly worked his way up to becoming a regular for the U23s, featuring in the Premier League 2 and EFL Trophy competitions for the 2016/17 season.
Signing the first professional contract of his career with Reading in July 2017, manager Jaap Stam recognised Danny’s natural talent.
The two-time UEFA Best Defender of the Year gave 16-year-old Danny his senior debut in the EFL Cup victory over Millwall in August that same year.
Danny soon received his first England U18s call-up having reached the final of the U17 European Championships three months beforehand.
The following 2018/19 campaign proved to be a memorable season for Danny. Playing 21 matches in the Championship, the league’s rising star scored Reading’s official Goal of the Season with a 20-yard strike away to Middlesbrough in April. He also became the Royals’ youngest player in club history to make 20 first-team appearances
Since his breakthrough as a homegrown favourite at Reading, Danny has also gained interest from Premier League clubs in an already promising career.
