Brief Report

In a high quality game with chances at both ends it was Chelsea who took the lead through Christain Pulisic after a mistake by Bernard Mendy gifted Pulisic possession then allowed the American to sprint clear on goal and slot past Ederson.

City hit back through a stunning free kick from the majestic De Bruyne which gave Kepa no chance. City were now in the ascendency and a magnificent counter attack ended with the ever influential Raheem Sterling hitting the post.

Chelsea then had an attempt brilliantly cleared off the line by Kyle Walker, before they struck the decisive goal. Fernandinho was adjudged to have handled Pulisic’s shot on the line and was subsequently dismissed and handed Cheslea the chance to take the lead from the spot.
