10th January 2020

With a successful last week for our clients following the third-round of the FA Cup, Colossal’s stars return to league action.

Alex has the chance to maintain Liverpool’s push for a first top-flight title in 30 years as the Reds head to north-London, taking on Tottenham Hotspur.

Meanwhile, further down the divisions, David will be vying for game time as Crawley Town host Bradford City at the People’s Pension Stadium.

All will be revealed in the latest edition of the weekend review:

Game of the Week: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Opposition: Tottenham Hotspur (A)

Time: Saturday, 5:30pm

Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

TV: Sky Sports Main Event & Sky Sports Football

After featuring in Liverpool’s 1-0 derby win over Everton on Sunday, Alex will be hoping to keep an impressive 10-game winning streak in the Premier League going.

Coming off the bench in the 70th minute, Alex was instrumental in helping his young teammates across the line at Anfield, completing 92% of his passes and going close with two saved attempts in the latter stages of the clash.

Facing an out of form Tottenham side, Alex will be desperate to start on Saturday in showing his determination to recover from another injury which he suffered in the Club World Cup triumph in December.

Cody Drameh & Martell Taylor-Crossdale

Opposition: Stoke City (H)

Time: Friday, 7pm

Venue: Craven Cottage

Despite Fulham’s Development Squad going through a rough patch after their 3-0 away defeat to Newcastle’s U23s, Cody and Martell both completed the full 90 minutes in last Friday’s clash.

After spells playing at left-back, Cody returned to his natural right-back position against the Magpies. Speaking of switching positions, Martell demonstrated the creative side to his game as a number 10 rather than playing at centre-forward.

The former Chelsea ace connected well with his teammates and was unlucky in not making an impact on the scoreboard.

Cody and Martell will have the chance to boost their team’s morale in hosting Stoke City as Fulham attempt to cut the six-point deficit behind themselves and the play-off cut in the Premier League 2 Division Two table.

David Sesay

Opposition: Bradford City (H)

Time: Saturday, 3pm

Venue: The People’s Pension Stadium

David has been involved in Crawley Town’s squad for the last four games with the League Two side currently 16th in the table.

In his first full season with the first team, the 21-year-old right-back has played a pivotal role for the Red Devils – making 23 appearances for Crawley mid-way through the campaign.

With Saturday’s opponents Bradford City sitting in the play-off places in the fourth-tier, David would certainly relish the challenge against a side aiming for promotion.

Kasey Palmer

Opposition: Wigan Athletic (A)

Time: Saturday, 3pm

Venue: DW Stadium

A trip to Wigan Athletic could present Kasey with his 50th senior career start in what’s been an intriguing journey for the former Chelsea talent.

After a series of loan moves, Kasey found his permanent home at Bristol City in the summer, as the powerful midfielder completed the entirety of the Robins’ 1-1 home draw in the FA Cup against Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.

Facing familiar opposition, Kasey will be hoping to replicate a similar individual performance to that of last season against Wigan, where the 23-year-old scored for City against the Latics at Ashton Gate.

Marvin Johnson

Opposition: Derby County (H)

Time: Saturday, 3pm

Venue: Riverside Stadium

After earning an exciting FA Cup replay tie against last season’s Champions League finalists Tottenham Hotspur, Marvin comes into the Championship fixture with Derby in inspiring form.

Marvin came on for the final 20 minutes in Middlesbrough’s battle against the Premier League outfit, keeping his team in the competition with a visit to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday night – which will be shown live on BBC One.

The 29-year-old, who has been pivotal to his side’s recent positive form, has appeared in Middlesbrough’s four last league games which has seen Boro claim 12 points from 12 as Marvin’s side have jumped up to 16th in the second tier.

Raheem Sterling

Opposition: Aston Villa (A)

Time: Sunday, 4:30pm

Venue: Villa Park

TV: Sky Sports Main Event & Sky Sports Football

Having contributed to Manchester City’s dominant position in the Carabao Cup semi-final with a 3-1 aggregate lead against rivals Manchester United, Raheem will be jubilant for Sunday’s clash at Aston Villa.

As the club’s leading top scorer with 20 goals in all competitions so far this season, the quadruple holders will be able to count on their leading top scorer as City can make it five wins in their last five matches.

Raheem has scored in his last two encounters against Aston Villa and will be hoping to build on his goalscoring tallies in the televised clash at Villa Park.
