4th October 2019

With another international break looming, Colossal’s stars will be vying to put club duties to one side in a positive manner over the coming days.

In front of a national TV audience, Marvin is very likely to start for Middlesbrough against Birmingham City in what will be a crucial match both for the winger and his team. Meanwhile, Raheem will be desperate to build on a week of milestones as Manchester City host Wolves on Sunday.

All will be revealed in this latest preview of the weekend’s action:

Game of the Week: Marvin Johnson

Opposition: Birmingham City (A)
Time: Friday, 7:45pm
Venue: St Andrew’s
TV: Sky Sports Football

After featuring for the final 10 minutes in the 1-1 draw with Preston on Tuesday, Marvin is very likely to make start away to Birmingham City.

In the Championship’s televised Friday night contest at St Andrew’s, Marvin will be hoping to shine with Middlesbrough in dire need of a win.

10 league games into the season, Boro are currently 20th in the second tier as manager Jonathan Woodgate will be calling on Marvin again to push the club further up the table.

Albert Rusnak

Opposition: Vancouver Whitecaps (A)
Time: Sunday, 9pm
Venue: BC Place

The morale couldn’t be any higher for Albert and his Real Salt Lake teammates who secured a spot in the MLS play-offs in Monday’s 2-1 victory over Houston Dynamo.

With a post-season beckoning for Salt Lake, Albert will be keen to build on the 10 goals he’s scored so far in this campaign.

Up against the Western Conference’s bottom-placed side in the Vancouver Whitecaps on Sunday, Freddy Juarez’s men will be confident of wrapping up the regular season with a win.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Opposition: Leicester City (H)
Time: Saturday, 3pm
Venue: Anfield

Liverpool’s faultless start to their bid of becoming Premier League champions will be under close examination this Saturday for the visit of third-placed Leicester City at Anfield.

If he features, Alex will be crucial to releasing the pressure on the side that are yet to drop league points this season, coming into Saturday’s clash with fresh legs.

After being rested in the 4-3 Champions League win over FC Salzburg on Wednesday, Alex’s potential return to the line-up would be a welcome inclusion for the Reds against dangerous opposition.

Cody Drameh & Martell Taylor-Crossdale

Opposition: Everton (H)
Time: Sunday, 11am
Venue: Motspur Park

Having lost out narrowly in the 1-0 EFL Trophy defeat at MK Dons on Tuesday, Cody and Martell will be likely starters again in the Premier League Cup fixture against Everton.

Cody has been a force going forward at right-back, providing service for talisman Martell, who has scored three goals since joining the Cottagers from West-London rivals Chelsea in July.

Hopefully, the on-field chemistry between the talented duo will guide Fulham to the three points in their first group-stage match of the tournament.

David Sesay

Opposition: Forest Green Rovers (A)
Time: Saturday, 3pm
Venue: The New Lawn

In last week’s 3-2 defeat to Walsall, David completed the full 90 minutes against Walsall at the People’s Pension Stadium.

This Saturday, David will be hoping to feature throughout the trip to fourth-place Forest Green as the Red Devils look for a surge inside the play-off places.

Against one of the lower scoring teams in League Two promotion contention, the 21-year-old and his teammates will be confident of keeping a clean sheet.

Kasey Palmer

Opposition: Reading (H)
Time: Saturday, 3pm
Venue: Ashton Gate

Kasey has been a vital cog in Bristol City’s promotion plans with the Robins sitting just a point behind the play-off cut.

The 22-year-old has featured heavily during the club’s 10 game unbeaten run in all competitions, with manager Lee Johnson building a team around Kasey.

Kasey will be confident of steering his team to another win as City host a Reading side that are only two points above the Championship relegation zone.

Raheem Sterling

Opposition: Wolverhampton Wanderers (H)
Time: Sunday, 2pm
Venue: Etihad Stadium

It was a story of milestones for Raheem last Saturday in Manchester City 3-1 victory away to Everton.

Raheem not only made his 200th club appearance at Goodison Park, the clinical forward also scored his 100th career goal as the quadruple holders cruised to a vital three points.

After also striking in the 2-0 home win against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League in midweek, you wouldn’t put it past Raheem on adding to his ever-increasing scoring tally this season, which currently stands at nine goals in all competitions, against Wolves on Sunday.

Reece Oxford

Opposition: Borussia Monchengladbach (A)
Time: Sunday, 12:30pm
Venue: Borussia-PARK
TV: BT Sport 2

Despite the disappointment of Augbsurg being beaten 3-0 at home to Bayer Leverkusen last week, the Bundesliga clash presented a first start for Reece this season.

Since joining the German side on a permanent deal in the summer, Reece has been given opportunities for Augsburg. However, Reece’s aim is to start week in, week out for Martin Schmidt’s team.

Facing his former club in Borussia Monchengladbach, Reece will be eager to complete the full 90 minutes again on Sunday, especially with the match being shown live in the UK.
