Marvin Johnson

Scoreline Summary

Brentford 3-2 Middlesbrough

(Jeanvier 24’, Mbuemo 60’, Watkins 87′ – Wing 58’, Fletcher 63’)

Brief Report

Marvin played for 63 minutes in Middlesbrough’s 3-2 loss to Brentford at Griffin Park on Saturday in a tightly fought affair.

Having featured as a left-wing-back for the best part of this season with Boro, Marvin was moved slightly forward in his natural left-wing spot as the visitors changed formation against the Bees.

Despite playing in a more advanced role, Marvin was still efficient against one of the league’s entertainers in Brentford, with three successful tackles.

Marvin’s side looked to have come away from west-London with a deserved point with two goals in five minutes before Ollie Watkins snatched all three points for the hosts.

What Does This Mean?

Despite this defeat, Middlesbrough still have a seven-point gap between themselves and the Championship’s bottom three.

What’s Next?

Marvin will look to extend that margin to 10 points on Tuesday night as Boro travel to 22nd place Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium.

David Sesay

Scoreline Summary

Salford City 0-0 Crawley Town

Brief Report

David helped Crawley Town keep a clean sheet in the goalless draw away to Salford as the 21-year-old completed the full 90 minutes at Moor Lane.

In his inaugural full season with Crawley’s first-team, David has performed at right-back but swapped wings on Saturday, featuring as a left-wing-back and stifling the hosts efforts to break the deadlock.

David’s performance in a different position certainly showed that the Kenyan can be trusted when called upon in helping the visitors earn a result at Salford.

What Does This Mean?

Despite not being able to jump ahead of Salford in the League Two table, David and his teammates still have a chance of earning a play-off spot, eleven points back with fourteen games remaining.

What’s Next?

David will now travel to Crewe on Tuesday night as Crawley face The Railwaymen at Gresty Road with kick-off at 7:45pm.
