Middlesbrough 1-1 Tottenham Hotspur
(Fletcher 50’ – Lucas Moura 61’)
Marvin’s introduction in the 67th minute of Middlesbrough’s well deserved 1-1 draw with Tottenham came at a perfect time as the Championship side earned a replay against last season’s Champions League finalists.
As the 28-year-old came on, manager Jonathan Woodgate changed his team’s formation, relying yet again on Marvin’s experience and energy as a left-wing-back. Whilst Jose Mourinho’s men dominated possession for the majority of the third-round FA Cup clash, Marvin played a big part in Boro’s defensive organisation.
After starting in Middlesbrough’s last two league fixtures as well as making a second-half appearance on Sunday, Marvin has certainly relished helping his club to recent positive results.
What Does This Mean?
Replay dates for the third round are yet to be confirmed as Marvin could get the chance to play at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Second-tier football is next up for Marvin as Middlesbrough host Derby County at the traditional Saturday kick-off time of 3pm.
