Newcastle United 2-2 Manchester City
(Willems 26’, Shelvey 88’ – Sterling 22’, De Bruyne 81’)
Raheem scored his 15th goal in all competitions and his eighth in the Premier League for season as Manchester City edged Newcastle in a 1-0 win at St. James Park.
Raheem combined expertly with teammate David Silva as the Ballon d’Or nominee carved space inside the box before finding the bottom-right corner.
In a match where the champions penned Newcastle back in their own half, the England international was made to work, being tightly marked on the left-wing.
The hosts pragmatic approach earnt them a point after Jetro Willems’ instant equaliser after Raheem’s opener as stunning second-half strikes apiece from Kevin De Bruyne and Jonjo Shelvey meant it was a share of the points.
What Does This Mean?
Raheem’s side have temporarily closed the gap to eight points behind leaders Liverpool with the Reds hosting Brighton with kick-off 3pm later today.
Next up for Raheem will be his first midweek Premier League clash of the season as Man City travel to Burnley on Tuesday night
