Man City 4-0 Liverpool
(De Bruyne 25’, Sterling 35’, Foden 45’, OG 66’)
Raheem Sterling put in a Man of the Match performance on Thursday night as Manchester City ran out as 4- 0 winners against 2019/20 Premier League champions Liverpool.
The tricky wide-man also recorded his first ever goal against his former side.
Kevin De Bruyne opened the proceedings for City with a well-placed penalty in the 25th minute, before Sterling found the net thanks to impressive trickery and a neat finish inside the box.
Just before the half-time mark, Phil Foden made it three with an impressive effort which found the top corner.
And in the 66th minute, Sterling almost found a second of the game – however, it was deflected in by fellow Colossal player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The goal in this evenings game was Raheem’s third from four games in all competitions.
What Does This Mean?
Having already been crowned Champions, this was something of a nothing game for Liverpool.
However, for City – it meant that they further solidified their second-place position in the table, moving 11 points clear of third-placed Leicester City.
Next up for Man City is a trip to the south coast on Sunday (7pm KO) as they take on Southampton.
Meanwhile, the Premier League Champions return to Anfield (4.30pm KO) as they host relegation-battling Aston Villa.
